CM-20 Pipe Cutting Machine – Hydraulic System Update

CM-20 Pipe Cutting Machine – Hydraulic System Update

Summary

The CM-20 pipe cutting machine has been updated with a split hydraulic system, replacing the previous integrated design. The hydraulic pump and cylinder are now installed separately and connected by hoses. This configuration is also applied across the 8", 12", and 20" pipe cutting machines, supporting more stable operation in workshop and on-site applications.

CM-20 Pipe Cutting Machine – Hydraulic System Update
Recently, a new set of on-site photos was taken for the CM-20 pipe cutting machine.
These images document an actual update to the hydraulic system structure of the CM-20.
Compared with previous versions, the current CM-20 adopts a split hydraulic system, replacing the former integrated design. In this configuration, the hydraulic pump and the cylinder are arranged as separate components.
Basic Positioning of the CM-20
The CM-20 is an electric hydraulic pipe cutting machine designed for cold cutting of steel pipes in the 8"–20" range.
It is suitable for both workshop fabrication and on-site applications, with overall design considerations focused on cutting stability and adaptability to different working conditions.
Changes in Hydraulic System Structure
In earlier versions, the CM-20 used an integrated hydraulic structure, where the pump and cylinder were combined into a single assembly.
In the current version, the hydraulic system has been changed to a split structure. The hydraulic pump and cylinder are installed separately and connected via hydraulic hoses.
From the machine layout and the on-site photos, it can be clearly seen that the pump functions as an independent unit, while the cylinder is dedicated to executing the cutting action, resulting in a more clearly defined structural arrangement.
Unified Pump Configuration
The hydraulic pump used in the current CM-20 is the same model as that used on the RG-2X.
Using this pump as a standalone module helps maintain a consistent hydraulic solution across different machine models and also facilitates maintenance and configuration management.
Application of Sealed Split Pumps Across the Product Line
The use of sealed split hydraulic pumps is not limited to the CM-20.
At present, our 8-inch, 12-inch, and 20-inch pipe cutting machines are all equipped with the same type of split, sealed hydraulic pump.
Compared with integrated pumps featuring ventilation holes, the sealed split structure offers a more straightforward layout, with the pump fully enclosed. This helps reduce the influence of external environmental factors on the hydraulic system and supports more stable operation during continuous work or on-site use.
About the New Photo Set
The newly updated photos were taken based on the current split hydraulic configuration.
They clearly show the arrangement of the pump, cylinder, and hydraulic hoses, reflecting the actual structure of the current CM-20 version rather than a conceptual or illustrative layout.
Conclusion
This hydraulic system update was carried out based on structural considerations and real-world usage conditions.
The CM-20 has now been documented in its current configuration through a new set of on-site photos, which accurately reflect the machine’s present structure.
